The Key, Shield, and Crescent each represent a different household threshold, from the front entrance to the quiet of the bedroom. Drawing on the practice of placing protective objects and symbols at the boundaries of the home, this coordinated set offers a tangible focus for your household protection ritual.

Each symbol is burned entirely freehand onto a natural, unfinished wood slice. Irregular edges, visible grain, and the individual character of the wood make every ward distinct.

The Shield represents firm household boundaries and defense against intrusion, disruption, and unwanted return. Place it near a back door, secondary entrance, or another significant boundary within your home.

The Crescent | The Inner Sanctum

Suggested placement: Bedroom doorway

The Crescent symbolizes protection for personal space, privacy, and rest. It brings the household working inward, focusing your intention on the home's most intimate spaces.

What's Included

• Three hand-burned wooden household wards: One each featuring the Key, Shield, and Crescent symbols.
• Printed instruction card: Explains each ward's purpose, suggested placement, and use, including alternatives for homes without a secondary entrance.
• Cream muslin drawstring bag: For storage, safekeeping, or gifting.

These are placement wards. Hanging hardware and adhesive are not included.

Dimensions & Natural Variation

Individual wood slices: Approximately 0.98–2.17 inches across, with an approximate thickness of 0.28 inches.

No two sets will ever be exactly alike. These are naturally irregular wood slices, not uniformly cut wooden blanks. Shape, size, grain, bark, coloration, surface texture, and natural markings will vary significantly.

You will receive the three symbol designs shown in the listing photographs. However, the size, positioning, orientation, and proportions of each symbol will be adapted individually to suit the natural surface of its particular wood slice.

Each design is burned freehand, not mechanically reproduced or transferred to create identical copies. The wood's natural character guides the finished artwork.

The photographs show an example set, not the exact wards you will receive. Your set will be individually crafted and will differ in appearance from those pictured. These variations are an intentional part of its rustic character.

Placement & Ritual Use

Position each ward near its corresponding threshold, such as above a doorway, on a nearby shelf, or in another safe and discreet indoor location.

As you place each piece, establish your protective intention for the space it represents. Use the three together as a coordinated household boundary working, with the included instruction card as your placement guide.
