One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form.

A handcrafted 108-bead Ritual Mala created for spirit communication, mediumship, psychic reception, discernment, and listening beyond ordinary perception. White howlite, ebony, hematite, grey glass seed beads, silver-colored metal accents, an ornate guru bead, an original freehand-burned Echo Seal, and a silver tassel form a ritual tool centered upon receiving, recognizing, and interpreting what comes through. Obsidian in the tassel bead falls adds protection and grounding.

Work the strand one bead at a time. Each of the 108 counting beads may accompany a prayer, petition, invocation, question, mantra, name, or focused intention.

The 108-Bead Structure

This full mala contains 108 counting beads, with white howlite forming the dominant material throughout the strand alongside ebony and 6mm hematite.

Pale howlite creates a bright field crossed by natural grey veining, while ebony provides recurring dark points throughout the counting cycle. Polished hematite introduces a reflective metallic element that visually connects the stonework with the silver-colored accents.

Grey glass seed beads and ornate silver-colored metal spacers add division and rhythm. The counting beads meet beneath an ornate silver-colored metal guru bead, from which the wooden Echo Seal and silver tassel hang.

The Echo Seal

Beneath the guru bead hangs an individually freehand-burned wooden Seal centered upon a single point surrounded by expanding curved lines.

The image draws upon the visual language of signal, vibration, resonance, and response. Something reaches outward. Something is received. The central point offers a place of focus, while the surrounding lines suggest information or presence moving beyond its source.

Within this mala, the Echo Seal represents reception, perception, attunement, and the ability to recognize what answers back. It does not represent a specific spirit, tradition, or method of communication. Instead, it offers a broader symbol for listening across the boundaries of ordinary perception.

The Seal is an original element of this Ritual Mala design, not a traditional component of mala construction. It was created entirely freehand without tracing, engraving, laser equipment, or mechanical reproduction.

Sacred Materials

  • Howlite: commonly associated in contemporary magical practice with calm, awareness, patience, spiritual receptivity, and quieting mental noise
  • Ebony: provides grounding and visual weight and is commonly associated with protection, strength, and boundaries
  • Hematite: commonly associated with grounding, protection, stability, focus, and maintaining connection to the physical during psychic or spiritual work
  • Obsidian: commonly associated with protection, grounding, boundaries, and shielding; incorporated into the tassel bead falls
  • Grey Glass Seed Beads: provide subtle separation and rhythm while echoing the grey veining of the howlite
  • Silver-Colored Metal Accents: create reflective points of contrast throughout the pale and dark materials
  • Metal Guru Bead: forms the central junction of the mala
  • Freehand-Burned Wooden Echo Seal: original artwork representing reception, perception, resonance, and response
  • Silver Tassel with Coordinated Bead Falls: finished with howlite, grey glass seed beads, hematite, and obsidian
  • Black Nylon Cord

Structure and Symbolism

The 108-bead structure is the mala's primary numerical foundation. Howlite establishes a current centered upon receptivity and attentive awareness, while ebony creates recurring grounding points. Hematite and silver-colored details introduce reflective elements throughout the structure.

The Echo Seal carries that movement outward and inward: signal and reception, question and response, expression and return. Beneath it, the silver tassel continues the predominantly pale palette, while 6mm obsidian beads in its falls add a protective and grounding element.

Together, the materials and Echo Seal create a mala centered upon listening without becoming ungrounded, receiving without abandoning discernment, and approaching communication with deliberate attention.

Working With Your Ritual Mala

Begin with the first counting bead beside the guru bead and move through the strand one bead at a time. Each bead may accompany a prayer, petition, invocation, question, spirit or ancestor name, mantra, or focused intention. Returning to the guru bead completes one cycle of 108.

Use the mala before spirit or psychic work to quiet distraction and establish focus, during repetitive invocation or petition, or afterward while reflecting upon what was received. It may also be incorporated into mediumship, divination, séance work, meditation, or practices centered upon developing awareness of subtle impressions.

When not actively in use, it may be carried, worn, placed upon an altar, or kept within a sacred space.

Dimensions

  • Counting beads: 108
  • Howlite: approximately 8mm
  • Ebony: approximately 8mm
  • Hematite: approximately 6mm
  • Obsidian: approximately 6mm
  • Neck loop, measured along one side: approximately 17 inches

This is a long-form ritual piece. When worn, use mindfulness during activities where the mala may catch, swing freely, or repeatedly contact surrounding objects.

This Ritual Mala was individually handcrafted and will be ritually blessed before leaving the studio. As a one-of-a-kind piece, this exact combination of materials, bead arrangement, metal components, freehand artwork, and finishing details will not be recreated.

Care and Notes

  • Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the cord and beadwork.
  • The Echo Seal is natural wood featuring entirely freehand-burned artwork.
  • Natural stone and wood carry individual variations in color, grain, pattern, veining, and finish.
  • Howlite varies from nearly solid white to heavily grey-veined beads throughout the strand.
  • Wear over time is expected with natural materials. Should the cord eventually give under long-term use, this is considered part of the piece's natural lifecycle. Rebuilding services are available if you would like the piece restrung and returned to working condition.
  • Colors may vary slightly from photos or videos due to lighting and monitor settings.
