One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form, though solar, floral, and spiral motifs may appear in future designs.

Crafted from acacia wood and entirely hand-burned, this kitchen witch spoon is part of the Fifth Gate Mystic Midsummer 2026 Collection. At approximately 13.4 inches long, it was made to live at the intersection of everyday kitchen use and intentional ritual practice.

The bowl of the spoon is filled with a radiant spiral sun, the spiral reflecting continual growth, blessing, and the unfolding path of life's seasons, while the surrounding rays embody vitality, abundance, warmth, and the life-giving power of the solar season. Flowing down the handle are repeating spirals, floral motifs, seed-like forms, and folk-inspired linework echoing flourishing gardens, ripening fields, and the steady movement of seasonal cycles.

Across many European folk traditions, Midsummer marked a season of gathering herbs, blessing homes and fields, honoring the sun, and giving thanks for abundance already growing toward harvest. This spoon was created within that current, a practical tool and a symbolic reminder of the blessings cultivated through patience, care, and steady effort.

Care Instructions

  • Hand wash only and dry immediately.
  • Do not soak or place in dishwasher.
  • Periodically apply food-grade mineral oil if the wood begins to appear dry.
  • Woodburned markings may naturally soften over time with regular use and washing, which is normal for handcrafted wooden utensils.

Notes

Each piece is ritually prepared before leaving my hands. Natural variation in wood grain, coloration, and patterning is expected and contributes to the individuality of the work.

Colors may vary slightly from photos due to lighting and natural wood tone, though I do my best to capture each piece as accurately as possible.
