One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form.

The Still Waters Ritual Mala is a handcrafted 108-bead strand of pale powder-blue aquamarine, soft green Burmese jade, and warm rosewood. Created for magical workings centered on emotional restoration, tranquility, and releasing accumulated burdens, it draws inspiration from the quiet strength of still water and the steadiness of returning to oneself.

Pale green glass seed beads and ornate silver-colored metal spacers bring rhythm to the strand. An aged silver-colored metal guru bead, an original freehand-burned wooden Reflection Seal, and a light spring green tassel with coordinated bead falls complete the piece.

Exceptionally long: This mala measures approximately 23 inches along one side of the neck loop and approximately 28 inches in full hanging length. Please consider its extended proportions carefully before purchasing.

Ritual Uses and Intentions

Give each prayer, petition, release, affirmation, mantra, or focused intention a place within a cycle of 108. This strand was created to accompany:

  • Emotional restoration after periods of stress, turmoil, or upheaval
  • Magical workings for peace, tranquility, and emotional equilibrium
  • Releasing accumulated emotional burdens and lingering tension
  • Water-element workings for stillness, reflection, and renewal
  • Cultivating patience, clarity, and thoughtful responses in difficult circumstances
  • Restoring harmony within oneself and one's surroundings
  • Peaceful transitions, meditation, and contemplation before important decisions
  • Repetitive prayer, petition, mantra, and focused intention

The Reflection Seal

Suspended beneath the guru bead, the natural wooden Reflection Seal features a small circle above a horizontal line, with three gently curved lines beneath it. The circle represents the self, awareness, and the clarity sought through reflection. The horizontal line evokes the still surface of water, while the curved lines suggest its reflection and the subtle movement beneath an apparently calm surface.

Together, these elements express the central current of Still Waters: finding peace without denying what lies beneath, allowing emotional turbulence to settle, and seeking clarity through stillness.

The seal is an original element of this Ritual Mala design, not a traditional component of mala construction. Its artwork was burned entirely freehand, without tracing, engraving, laser equipment, or mechanical reproduction.

Materials and Symbolism

The strand contains 108 counting beads in approximately 8mm aquamarine, Burmese jade, and rosewood. Aquamarine appears at regular intervals, balanced by soft green jade and rich brown rosewood. Pale green glass seed beads provide separation, and ornate silver-colored metal spacers mark recurring points along the strand.

  • Aquamarine: Commonly associated in contemporary metaphysical practice with tranquility, emotional clarity, soothing turbulent feelings, and peaceful communication. Its pale blue color reinforces the connection to water and restoration.
  • Burmese jade: Associated with harmony, peace, balance, well-being, and good fortune. Within this design, it symbolizes restored equilibrium and lasting emotional steadiness.
  • Rosewood: Adds warmth and an earthy foundation. Wood is associated with growth, stability, grounding, and sustained practice, balancing the strand's cooler stones and water-centered symbolism.
  • Pale green glass seed beads
  • Ornate silver-colored metal spacers
  • Aged silver-colored metal guru bead
  • Freehand-burned wooden Reflection Seal: Original artwork representing still water, reflection, clarity, and emotional equilibrium.
  • Light spring green tassel with coordinated bead falls
  • Cream-colored nylon cord

Working With Your Ritual Mala

Begin with the first counting bead beside the guru bead and move through the strand one bead at a time. Each bead may accompany a prayer, petition, affirmation, word of release, mantra, or focused intention. Returning to the guru bead completes one cycle of 108.

For release workings, each bead may represent something being acknowledged and allowed to settle. For restoration workings, repeat intentions for peace, balance, clarity, and renewed strength. The strand may also accompany water-element rituals, meditation, or quiet reflection when circumstances feel overwhelming.

Between workings, carry or wear the mala, place it upon an altar, or keep it within a dedicated ritual space.

Dimensions

  • Counting beads: 108
  • Aquamarine: approximately 8mm
  • Burmese jade: approximately 8mm
  • Rosewood: approximately 8mm
  • Neck loop, measured along one side: approximately 23 inches
  • Full hanging length: approximately 28 inches

Important sizing note: This mala is exceptionally long, even among long-form ritual malas. Its approximately 28-inch hanging length means it may extend considerably farther down the torso than a conventional necklace or shorter ritual strand. Please consider these measurements carefully before purchasing.

When worn, use mindfulness during activities where the mala may catch, swing freely, or repeatedly contact surrounding objects. Its length may make it particularly suitable for seated ritual work, altar use, or handling as a counting strand.

Handcrafted and Consecrated

Individually handcrafted by Fifth Gate Mystic, this Ritual Mala will be ritually blessed before leaving the studio. This exact combination of materials, bead arrangement, metal components, and freehand artwork will not be recreated.

Care and Natural Variations

  • Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the cord and beadwork.
  • The Reflection Seal is natural wood featuring entirely freehand-burned artwork.
  • Natural stone and wood vary in color, grain, pattern, texture, translucency, and finish. Aquamarine and Burmese jade may display individual variations in tone, clarity, and natural inclusions. Rosewood may vary in grain, color, and surface character.
  • The cream-colored nylon cord is secured with heat-sealed knots to help prevent fraying. The heat-sealing process involves melting the cord ends and may leave small areas of darkening or discoloration around the finished knots. These are normal characteristics of the finishing process.
  • Silver-colored metal components may develop surface wear or changes in finish over time.
  • Wear over time is expected with natural materials. Should the cord eventually give under long-term use, this is considered part of the piece's natural lifecycle. Rebuilding services are available if you would like the piece restrung and returned to working condition.
  • Colors may vary slightly from photos or videos due to lighting and monitor settings.
