One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form.

A handcrafted 108-bead Ritual Mala created for spirit communication, mediumship, communion with the departed, psychic reception, grounding, and discernment. Labradorite, larvikite, white moonstone, sandalwood, reconstituted howlite skulls, black and silver glass seed beads, and silver-colored metal accents form a muted strand illuminated by flashes of blue and silver.

An original freehand-burned Crossroads Seal and black tassel complete this ritual tool, centering the piece upon spirit contact, liminal passage, and remaining grounded while reaching beyond ordinary perception.

The Work This Piece Supports

  • Spirit communication, mediumship, and séance work
  • Communion and magical work with the departed
  • Ancestor communication and remembrance
  • Psychic reception and discernment during spirit work
  • Crossroads and liminal magical practice
  • Divination involving spirits or ancestors
  • Grounding before, during, and after contact
  • Petition, invocation, repetitive prayer, meditation, and focused intention
  • Closing and reflection following spirit work

The 108-Bead Structure

Work the strand one bead at a time. Each of the 108 counting beads may accompany a prayer, petition, invocation, spirit or ancestor name, question, mantra, or focused intention. Returning to the guru bead completes one full cycle of 108.

Labradorite carries much of the strand through smoky grey tones and intermittent subtle flash. Darker larvikite provides grounding points, white moonstone adds pale contrast, and warm sandalwood introduces an earthy element among the cool-toned stones.

Reconstituted howlite skulls serve as distinct stations within the counting cycle, bringing imagery of mortality, remembrance, transition, and the departed into the structure of the mala. Black glass seed beads and silver-colored metal accents create separation, rhythm, and contrast. The counting beads meet beneath an ornate silver-colored metal guru bead, from which the wooden Crossroads Seal and black tassel hang.

The Crossroads Seal

Beneath the guru bead hangs an individually freehand-burned wooden Seal bearing a simple X-shaped crossroads.

The crossroads has long represented intersection, passage, encounter, choice, and liminality across numerous magical and spiritual traditions. Within this piece, the mark relates specifically to spirit work: a point where paths meet and a symbolic threshold through which contact and passage may be approached.

Its simplicity is deliberate. Four paths converge at a single center without assigning the Seal to a particular spirit, deity, or individual tradition. Here, it represents encounter, passage, and the meeting point between the living and those who have passed beyond.

The Seal is an original handcrafted element burned entirely freehand without tracing, engraving, laser equipment, or mechanical reproduction.

Sacred Materials

  • Labradorite: commonly associated in contemporary magical practice with psychic perception, intuition, spirit work, liminality, protection, and navigating beyond ordinary perception
  • Larvikite: commonly associated with grounding, protection, discernment, psychic awareness, and stability during spiritual or magical work
  • White Moonstone: commonly associated with intuition, psychic receptivity, liminal states, cycles, and spiritual awareness
  • Sandalwood: traditionally used in devotional and ritual contexts and commonly associated with prayer, meditation, purification, spiritual practice, and sacred space
  • Reconstituted Howlite Skulls: represent mortality, remembrance, transition, and the departed
  • Black Glass Seed Beads: provide separation, rhythm, and dark contrast
  • Silver-Colored Metal Accents: create reflective points among the grey, white, black, and natural wood tones
  • Metal Guru Bead: forms the central junction of the mala
  • Freehand-Burned Wooden Crossroads Seal: represents intersection, passage, liminality, and encounter
  • Black Tassel with Coordinated Bead Falls: continues the stone, wood, black, and silver palette
  • Black Nylon Cord

Working With Your Ritual Mala

Use the mala before spirit contact to establish focus and intention, during repetitive invocation, prayer, petition, or calling, or afterward for grounding, closing, and reflection. It may also be incorporated into ancestor practice, séance work, mediumship, divination involving spirits or the departed, and magical practice centered upon liminal places or the crossroads.

When not actively in use, it may be carried, worn, placed upon an altar, or kept within a sacred space.

Care and Notes

  • Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the cord and beadwork.
  • The Crossroads Seal is natural wood featuring entirely freehand-burned artwork.
  • Natural stone and wood carry individual variations in color, grain, pattern, translucency, and finish.
  • Labradorite varies considerably throughout the strand. Individual beads range from subdued grey to visible blue or multicolored flash depending upon lighting and viewing angle.
  • White moonstone in this piece is predominantly pale and softly reflective rather than strongly flashed.
  • Reconstituted howlite skull beads may carry individual variations in coloration and carved detail.
  • Wear over time is expected with natural materials. Should the cord eventually give under long-term use, this is considered part of the piece's natural lifecycle. Rebuilding services are available if you would like the piece restrung and returned to working condition.
  • Colors and visible stone flash may vary from photos or videos due to lighting, viewing angle, and monitor settings.
