The darkened finish, layered woodburned texture, metallic green detailing, and suspended serpent charm give this piece a strong and watchful presence suited for altars, devotional spaces, and protective workings.

The Symbolism

Serpents appear throughout mythology, folklore, and magical traditions as symbols of transformation, hidden knowledge, protection, renewal, and personal power. Their association with shedding skin has long been linked to cycles of growth, evolution, and emergence from previous states of being. Combined with serpentine, a stone often associated with wisdom, spiritual growth, and connection to transformative currents, the attached charm functions as both a visual adornment and a symbolic accent to the larger piece.

Form and Structure

Built from a turned wooden candlestick form and extensively textured through freehand woodburning, the body carries layered lines and surface movement throughout. A brass grommet lines the candle opening, reinforcing the upper structure while adding a subtle aged metallic accent that complements the darker finish.

Craftsmanship

Hand-burned linework and surface detailing were applied before finishing in a deep, dark stain. Layered black metallic wax and metallic green detailing were then worked across the surface to create tonal depth and reflective movement that reveals itself when the piece catches the light just right.

The attached stretch charm features serpentine, hematite, gold-colored metal accent beads, and a suspended serpent charm. The charm may be carefully removed or repositioned if desired, though excessive stretching should be avoided to preserve the integrity of the piece. The entire piece has been sealed to protect the texture and dimensional finish.

Handcrafted and Consecrated

Each piece is individually finished by hand and will naturally carry variation in burn depth, wood grain, stain movement, metallic detailing, and bead selection. Every piece is ritually blessed before leaving my hands.

• Wipe gently with a dry or slightly damp cloth as needed.
• Wear over time is expected with natural materials and regular use. This is part of the piece's natural lifecycle.
