A handcrafted 108-bead Ritual Mala created for magical practices centered upon release, letting go, closure, and consciously loosening what is ready to be left behind. Featuring lepidolite, ebony, hematite, silver glass seed beads, silver-colored metal accents, an ornate metal guru bead, an original freehand-burned Release Seal, and a black tassel with coordinated bead fall, this piece adapts the traditional counting structure of the mala for contemporary magical practice.

Designed to be worked one bead at a time, each of the 108 counting beads may accompany a prayer, petition, mantra, affirmation, or focused intention.

The 108-Bead Structure

The mala contains 108 counting beads, preserving the traditional numerical structure of a full mala. The strand combines 6mm and 8mm lepidolite with 8mm ebony and 6mm hematite, creating variation in weight, texture, and scale. Silver glass seed beads and silver-colored metal accents provide additional rhythm and definition throughout the strand. The counting beads are arranged around an underlying structure of 9, reinforcing the current of completion, release, and the ending of one cycle before another begins.

The Release Seal

Beneath the metal guru bead hangs an individually freehand-burned wooden Seal depicting a branch releasing a single falling leaf. An open circular border surrounds the image without completely enclosing it, visually reinforcing movement outward and the act of letting go. The leaf and remaining foliage have been individually hand-detailed in violet, tying the Seal into the lepidolite carried throughout the strand.

The Seal is an original element of this Ritual Mala design and is not a traditional component of mala construction. It was created entirely freehand without tracing, engraving, laser equipment, or mechanical reproduction.

Numerological Structure

This mala incorporates a foundation of 9 within its 108 counting beads. Within this practice, nine carries associations with completion, culmination, endings, and transition between cycles. Its inclusion supports the Release current by recognizing that letting go is not simply an act of removal, but the completion of something that has reached its end. The traditional 108 counting beads remain the foundation of the mala itself.

Working With Your Ritual Mala

Begin with the first counting bead beside the guru bead and move through the strand one bead at a time. Each bead may accompany a prayer, petition, mantra, affirmation, visualization, or focused intention. Upon returning to the guru bead, one complete cycle of 108 has been worked. Work one cycle or several. The mala may also be carried, worn, placed upon an altar, or kept within a sacred space when not actively in use.

This Ritual Mala was individually handcrafted and will be ritually blessed before leaving the studio. As a one-of-a-kind piece, this exact combination of materials, bead arrangement, metal components, and freehand artwork will not be recreated.

Care and Notes

• Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the cord and beadwork.
• The Release Seal is natural wood featuring entirely freehand-burned and hand-painted artwork.
• Natural stone and wood carry individual variations in color, grain, pattern, and finish.
• Wear over time is expected with natural materials. Should the cord eventually give under long-term use, this is considered part of the piece's natural lifecycle. Rebuilding services are available if you would like the piece restrung and returned to working condition.
