One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form.
A handcrafted 108-bead Ritual Mala created for magical practices centered upon clarity, discernment, focus, and seeing a path or situation more clearly. Featuring sodalite, ebony wood, hematite, silver glass seed beads, silver-colored metal accents, an ornate metal guru bead, an original freehand-burned Clarity Seal, and a black tassel with coordinated bead fall, this piece adapts the traditional counting structure of the mala for contemporary magical practice.
Designed to be worked one bead at a time, each of the 108 counting beads may accompany a prayer, petition, mantra, affirmation, or focused intention.
The Work This Piece Supports
- Clarity and discernment
- Seeing situations, choices, and paths more clearly
- Focus and concentration
- Sorting through confusion or competing thoughts
- Thoughtful decision-making
- Seeking insight before taking action
- Meditation and contemplation
- Repetitive prayer, petition, mantra, or affirmation work
The 108-Bead Structure
The mala contains 108 counting beads, preserving the traditional numerical structure of a full mala. The strand combines 8mm and 10mm sodalite with 8mm ebony wood and 6mm hematite, creating a substantial variation in weight, texture, and scale. Silver glass seed beads provide rhythm and separation throughout the strand, while silver-colored metal accents frame the larger 10mm sodalite beads and draw attention to the focal points within the counting structure.
The combination of larger stone beads and dense ebony gives this mala a noticeably weightier feel than many other Ritual Malas, lending the piece a substantial presence both in the hands and when worn.
The Clarity Seal
Beneath the metal guru bead hangs an individually freehand-burned wooden Seal depicting a single guiding star surrounded by clouds. The star remains fixed and visible among the shifting clouds, representing the point of clarity that can be found when confusion, uncertainty, or competing thoughts make the larger path difficult to see.
The Seal is an original element of this Ritual Mala design and is not a traditional component of mala construction. It was created entirely freehand without tracing, engraving, laser equipment, or mechanical reproduction.
Sacred Materials
- Sodalite: commonly associated in contemporary magical practice with clarity, discernment, insight, focus, communication, and the ordering of thought
- Ebony Wood: provides the natural wood element throughout the strand and a dark visual foundation that allows the variations of blue within the sodalite to stand forward
- Hematite: commonly associated with grounding, centering, stability, and protection, providing a steady foundation for work involving thought and discernment
- Silver Glass Seed Beads: provide separation and visual rhythm throughout the counting structure
- Silver-Colored Metal Accents: frame the larger sodalite beads and create additional definition throughout the strand
- Metal Guru Bead: forms the central junction of the mala
- Freehand-Burned Wooden Clarity Seal: original artwork depicting a guiding star among clouds
- Black Tassel with Coordinated Bead Fall
- Black Nylon Cord
Numerological Structure
This mala incorporates a foundation of 7 within its 108-bead structure. Within this practice, seven carries associations with insight, intuition, contemplation, seeking, and looking beyond the immediately apparent. The larger 10mm sodalite beads serve as deliberate focal points within this structure, with seven appearing along each half of the mala. Their additional silver-colored framing makes this numerical pattern visually distinct within the strand.
For the Clarity current, seven emphasizes the process of looking carefully, considering what lies beneath surface appearances, and seeking understanding before choosing a direction.
Working With Your Ritual Mala
Begin with the first counting bead beside the guru bead and move through the strand one bead at a time. Each bead may accompany the repetition of a prayer, petition, mantra, affirmation, visualization, or focused intention. Upon returning to the guru bead, one complete cycle of 108 has been worked. Work one cycle or several. The mala may also be carried, worn, placed upon an altar, or kept within a sacred space when not actively in use.
Dimensions
- Counting beads: 108

- Ebony wood: approximately 8mm
- Hematite: approximately 6mm
