About This Piece

The bowl features a hand-burned Tree of Life, its spreading branches and leaves mirrored by deep, curling roots below. The tree is enclosed within a circle and surrounded by radiating lines, creating a design centered on the connection between what grows above and what remains rooted below.

Linear burnwork extends from the bowl along the length of the handle, echoing the upward movement of roots, trunk, and branches and carrying the design through the entire piece. Every line is burned entirely by hand, allowing the natural grain and character of the wood to become part of the finished design.
