Created in honor of Thoth, the ancient Egyptian god of wisdom, writing, sacred knowledge, measurement, magic, and the moon, this talisman draws from the enduring symbolism of the divine scribe and patron of learning. Throughout ancient Egyptian tradition, Thoth was regarded as the inventor of writing, the patron of scribes, the recorder of sacred words, the measurer of time, and a guardian of knowledge whose wisdom helped uphold the divine order of Ma'at through careful record, reason, and discernment.

The Pendants

At the center rests a hand-burned wooden pendant bearing a simplified ibis, the sacred bird most closely associated with Thoth throughout ancient Egyptian tradition. Revered as the divine scribe, Thoth was frequently depicted with the head of an ibis, symbolizing wisdom, measured thought, sacred record, and the careful preservation of knowledge.

Above it rests a second hand-burned pendant depicting a crescent moon beneath a field of stars. As Egyptian theology developed, Thoth became closely associated with the moon and with the reckoning of time, calendars, and the ordered movement of the heavens. Suspended beneath is a gold-colored feather charm. Natural variation in linework, wood grain, burn depth, painted accents, and surface character is part of the piece's individual identity. Every talisman is consecrated through ritual preparation before leaving my hands.

Handle with care to preserve the longevity of the cord and beadwork. Treat this as a handcrafted ritual object rather than a heavy-duty piece. Wear over time is expected with natural materials. Should the cord eventually give under long-term use, this is considered part of the piece's natural lifecycle. Rebuilding services are available if you would like the piece restrung and returned to working condition.
