One of a kind. This piece will not be recreated in this exact form.

A handcrafted 108-bead Ritual Mala created for magical practices centered upon growth, development, forward movement, and nurturing what is beginning to take root. Featuring African turquoise jasper, thuja wood, hematite, silver glass seed beads, silver-colored metal accents, an ornate metal guru bead, an original freehand-burned Growth Seal, and a forest green tassel with coordinated bead fall, this piece adapts the traditional counting structure of the mala for contemporary magical practice.

Designed to be worked one bead at a time, each of the 108 counting beads may accompany a prayer, petition, mantra, affirmation, or focused intention.

The Work This Piece Supports

  • Growth and personal development
  • Nurturing new beginnings and emerging paths
  • Encouraging forward movement and continued progress
  • Building upon foundations already established
  • Supporting change through steady, intentional action
  • Cultivating goals, intentions, and magical work over time
  • Meditation and contemplation
  • Repetitive prayer, petition, mantra, or affirmation work

The 108-Bead Structure

The mala contains 108 counting beads, preserving the traditional numerical structure of a full mala. The strand combines 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm African turquoise jasper with 8mm thuja wood and 6mm hematite, creating variation in color, texture, and scale. Silver glass seed beads divide the counting beads into visible groups of three, while silver-colored metal accents frame the larger 10mm jasper beads and provide additional definition throughout the strand. The counting beads are arranged into 36 groups of three, creating an underlying numerical structure centered upon growth, action, and creation while preserving the traditional 108-bead form.

The Growth Seal

Beneath the metal guru bead hangs an individually freehand-burned wooden Seal depicting a young plant emerging from the earth. The sprouting plant represents growth that has already begun, while the visible earth beneath it emphasizes the foundation from which that growth develops. Radiating marks surrounding the sprout suggest movement, emergence, and the energy required to continue reaching upward.

The Seal is an original element of this Ritual Mala design and is not a traditional component of mala construction. It was created entirely freehand without tracing, engraving, laser equipment, or mechanical reproduction.

Sacred Materials

  • African Turquoise Jasper: commonly associated in contemporary magical practice with growth, change, development, and opening oneself to new possibilities
  • Thuja Wood: provides the natural wood element throughout the strand, bringing warmth and an organic quality that complements the Growth current
  • Hematite: commonly associated with grounding, centering, stability, and protection, providing a steady foundation beneath the work of growth and change
  • Silver Glass Seed Beads: separate the counting beads into visible groups of three and provide rhythm throughout the strand
  • Silver-Colored Metal Accents: frame the larger African turquoise jasper beads and create additional definition and structure
  • Metal Guru Bead: forms the central junction of the mala
  • Freehand-Burned Wooden Growth Seal: original artwork depicting a young plant emerging from the earth
  • Forest Green Tassel with Coordinated Bead Fall
  • Black Nylon Cord

Numerological Structure

This mala incorporates a foundation of 3 throughout its 108 counting beads, which are visibly arranged into 36 groups of three. Within this practice, three carries associations with action, creation, development, and bringing something into being. Its repetition throughout the strand reinforces the Growth current as something active and ongoing rather than a single moment of change. The six larger 10mm African turquoise jasper beads are additionally emphasized with silver-colored metal accents, creating three focal stones along each half of the mala while maintaining the larger three-based structure.

Working With Your Ritual Mala

Begin with the first counting bead beside the guru bead and move through the strand one bead at a time. Each bead may accompany the repetition of a prayer, petition, mantra, affirmation, visualization, or focused intention. Upon returning to the guru bead, one complete cycle of 108 has been worked. Work one cycle or several. The mala may also be carried, worn, placed upon an altar, or kept within a sacred space when not actively in use.

Dimensions

  • Counting beads: 108
  • African turquoise jasper: approximately 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm
  • Thuja wood: approximately 8mm
